What are HTML color codes?

Color codes are how we tell screens which red, green, and blue intensities to show. On the web you will see Hex color codes most often, plus RGB and HSL in CSS, OKLCH in modern pipelines, and named keywords like rebeccapurple.

Hex color codes

A Hex code is six hexadecimal digits: each pair encodes red, green, and blue from 00 (none) to FF (full). White is #FFFFFF; black is #000000. Grayscale colors use equal channels — #808080 is mid gray.

Modern displays support about 16.7 million sRGB colors. Use the studio at the top of this page to explore one, or open our palette charts when you want curated sets instead of infinite scroll.

FAQ

Is ChromaXP free?

Yes — core tools and references are free in the browser. Ad slots may appear in labelled areas to help cover hosting.

How is this different from other color code sites?

Reference hubs like HTML Color Codes excel at tables and pickers. ChromaXP keeps that scan-and-copy flow, then adds OKLCH-aware ramps, contrast linting, and token export so implementation work stays on one desk.

Do you upload my images?

The image extractor uses an in-browser canvas path by default. Server uploads, if ever added, would be opt-in and clearly labelled.

Which formats are supported?

HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV, CMYK, and OKLCH on picker and converter tools, plus CSS/Tailwind/Android export on token generators.
